Record-breaking summer experienced in Odisha this year

Bhubaneswar(27/04/2024): Odisha experienced record-breaking summer this year. The prevailing hot and humid conditions are likely to continue till May 9. Weather scientist of Bhubaneswar MeT, Umasankar Das said, "There are no chances of heavy rain and the heatwave conditions will continue till May second week. The month of April has broken unprecedented temperature records this year.

While Bhubaneswar stood above 40 degree Celsius in the last 12 days, similar conditions continued in more than 15 districts of the state.

The day temperature is likely to rise by 2 degree C in several places during the next 48 hours.

Intense heatwave conditions will continue in several places, particularly northern and west-interior parts of Odisha during the next 4-5 days, he added.
