Death of Odia tourist in Pahalgam terror attack: Odisha CM announces Rs 20 lakh ex gratia

Bhubaneswar (24/04/2025): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced an ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh for the family of the Odia tourist who lost his life in the terror attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister also said that the state government will provide a job to the wife of the deceased tourist, Prashant Satpathy, and bear the expenses for his son's education. The announcement was made by the CM after he reached Prashant's native village Ishani under Remuna block in Balasore district to pay floral tributes to the departed soul. Prashant was among the 26 tourists who died in the deadly firing incident in Pahalgam.
