The Odisha government has directed schools to remain closed due to the severe heatwave, and any institution violating this order will face action, said Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Friday.
The Minister stated that schools and colleges will stay closed until further notice, with ongoing examinations proceeding as scheduled.
Private school owners have been warned to adhere to the government directive, he added.
The government has declared holidays for schools and colleges across the state in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions.
