Kalbaishakhi brings much-needed relief from heat; early monsoon likely in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (23/05/2025): Kalbaishakhi (norwester) brought much-needed relief for the people of Odisha from the hot and humid conditions.Several parts of the state received light to moderate rainfall in the last 24 hours. A low-pressure area has formed over the east-central Arabian Sea, and the southwest monsoon is likely to reach Kerala soon.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the monsoon is likely to reach Odisha early. The formation of the low-pressure area and the monsoon's progress are expected to bring relief from the heatwave conditions.
