
Water bottling unit sealed in Cuttack
Cuttack (18/06/2025): Amid rising cholera and diarrhoea cases in Odisha, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) sealed a water bottling facility at Shankarpur Dasasahi following allegations that the company was distributing untreated water without proper purification measures. The health officials of the CMC conducted a surprise inspection and shut down the unit after finding violations. The company was allegedly distributing bottling water to local markets without any filtration or disinfection.According to the health officials, contaminated water resources are the primary contributors to the recent increase in cases. Yesterday, the CMC officials raided several hotels and eateries at Station Bazaar area in Cuttack.Two hotels were sealed for unhygienic food practices and bad quality water usage .
