
Over 51 lakh farmers receive Rs 1,041 crore
Bhubaneswar (27/08/2025): On the occasion of Nuakhai, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment held a state-level ceremony at the Agriculture Education Hall of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, to distribute the third installment of the CMâKisan scheme for Rabi 2025â26.Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented a total of Rs 1,04,129â¯crore via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) to over 51â¯lakh small, marginal, nominal farmers, landless cultivators, tribal groups, and urbanâregion farmers. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a âKrushak Bhavanâ and an âGuest Houseâ at the OUAT with an investment of about Rs 59â¯crore. He announced that the farmer registration period would be extended soon. The CM said, "The farmers received Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy and a record 92.63â¯lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured.Now, more than 51â¯lakh small, marginal, nominal, and 39,239 landless farmer families have received Rs 1,041â¯crore (Rs 1,04,129â¯crore seems a typoâshould be Rs 1,041 crore) under the third installment of CMâKisan through DBT." .
