Odisha government announces Biju Patnaik Sports Awards for 2024

Bhubaneswar (29/08/2025): The Odisha government announced the Biju Patnaik Sports Awards for 2024.

Bijay Kumar Satpathy presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Weightlifting.

Animesh Kujur recognised for Outstanding Performance in Athletics, while Sushama Nanda received the Excellence in Coaching Award for Volleyball.

Other awardees include Pradyumna Mishra for promoting Kho Kho, Bimal Kumar Raul (Prameya) for Sports Journalism, Rakhal Kumar Sethy as Best Para Sportsperson in Para Fencing, Sattwik Swain as Upcoming Junior Athlete in Chess, and Dr.Sudeep Satpathy for Technical/Support contribution. The Biju Patnaik Bravery Award 2024 was conferred to Jiban Kumar Behera and Chittaranjan Pradhan.
