Lady traffic constable missing from Bhubaneswar found dead in Keonjhar

Bhubaneswar(17/09/2025): The body of lady traffic constable Subhamitra Sahoo was found in a cashew forest at Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district by the special squad of Commissionerate Police. Subhamitra was allegedly murdered and her body was dumped in the forest by her male friend identified as traffic constable Deepak Raut (25).

Deepak has reportedly been arrested in connection with the murder.

He killed Subhamitra by throttling her over some dispute. After the murder, Deepak allegedly took her body in a car from Bhubaneswar and buried it in a forested area in Keonjhar. The police have seized the vehicle used in the crime.

Subhamitra was reported missing on September 6, when she failed to return home after her duty.

The Commissionerate Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for credible information about her whereabouts.
