Twin City gears up for Maa Durga idol immersion

Bhubaneswar(03/10/2025): Extensive preparations have been made in the Twin City- Bhubaneswar and Cuttack- for the immersion (Bhasani) of Maa Durga idol. A total of 125 platoons of police force have been deployed in Cuttack. Ten temporary ponds have been built in Debigada for the immersion. Total 150 medhas from Cuttack will take part in the procession to Debigada.

Major routes for procession include College Square, Ranihat, Mangalabag, Baxi Bazaar, Dargha Bazaar and Choudhury Bazaar. Similarly, four ponds have been built in Bhubaneswar for idol immersion.

Police and fire services personnel will be present near the ponds. A total of 61 platoons of police force have been deployed for smooth immersion ceremony.

The medhas heading towards Saheed Nagar Durga Puja Samiti ground will reach Vani Vihar first.

After numbering there, one by one the medhas will reach Saheed Nagar Durga Puja Samiti ground.

After the Samiti felicitates various Puja Committee members, the procession will proceed to Rajmahal Chack with traditional instruments. The Bhasani will be held from 2 pm to 1 am in Bhubaneswar.
