Clash breaks out during goddess Durga idol immersion in Cuttack; six including DCP injured

Cuttack (04/10/2025): Tension ran high at Darghabazar in Cuttack after a clash broke out between two groups during the idol immersion of goddess Durga late on Friday night. The clash reportedly broke out after locals allegedly objected to some songs played in a procession. Six persons, including DCP Rishikesh Khilari, sustained injuries in stone pelting and glass bottle attacks. Following the incident, police resorted to lathicharge to bring the situation under control. Several vehicles were also damaged in stone pelting.
