Reliable power boost for Jeypore District Hospital

Berhampur(07/10/2025): TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has further strengthened the power supply system at the Koraput Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Jeypore, by installing and activating a new 1.25 MVA power unit.
This comes in addition to the first 1250 kVA unit set up last year, doubling the hospital’s capacity to receive reliable electricity supply.
This upgrade directly supports the hospital’s growing needs.
With more patients visiting the facility and new medical services being introduced, reliable power is essential for smooth operations.
The District Headquarters Hospital serves a wide population from Koraput and nearby rural and hilly areas, where travelling for treatment often involves long distances and difficult routes. The newly commissioned setup includes the transformer, along with its control and monitoring systems, which ensures that power remains stable and does not trip during critical treatment.
The additional capacity will also help the hospital expand its facilities in the future without worrying about electricity load or voltage-related interruptions.
It reduces the chances of outages and provides a backup layer of stability during peak hours or emergencies. Speaking on the initiative, Amit Kumar Garg, CEO TPSODL said, "Strengthening the power supply at hospitals like Jeypore DHH reflects our broader commitment to supporting critical public institutions.
TPSODL remains focused on providing safe and continuous supply so that patient care is never disrupted." The commissioning was attended by key TPSODL officials, including Dnyaneshwar Ramchandra Dharmadhikari (Chief Technical Services), Manmath Nath Mishra (Circle Head, Jeypore), Varun Choudhury (Executive Engineer, Jeypore Electrical Division), Section Heads, and the DHH Jeypore Manager.
TPSODL’s initiative marks another step towards improving public health infrastructure in Southern Odisha by making hospitals better prepared for emergencies, rising patient load, and advanced medical care needs.
