Tuition teacher shot at in Mayurbhanj

Baripada (19/10/2025): A tuition teacher was shot at by miscreants at Mankadapal village under Badasahi police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday evening. The victim identified as Sanjay Kumar Nayak of Mankadapal village sustained bullet injury near his abdomen.

Sanjay was rushed to Baripada Medical College.

He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack due to excessive bleeding. Sanjay was returning home when he stopped on the road where a tree branch had fallen.

At that moment, the miscreants opened fire, two rounds of bullets and fled the spot. Sanjay's wife alleged that she recently secured employment at an Anganwadi Centre, leading to disputes with some people who did not get the same job.

She claimed that these people might have attacked her husband.
