Two hardcore criminals arrested, 5 semi-automatic pistols seized in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (27/03/2024): Commissionerate Police on Wednesday arrested two hardcore criminals allegedly involved in illegal arms trade following raids at different locations in Bhubaneswar.The accused have been identified as Suraj Parida and Tapudhar Nayak. Parida is a diploma holder in Electricals.Five semi-automatic pistols, 24 rounds of live ammunition, mobile phones and magazines have been seized from the possession of the accused, informed Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda. Panda said that a drive has already been launched by the Commissionerate Police keeping in view the upcoming elections in Odisha.Special drives are being conducted and emphasis is being placed to busting illegal firearms rackets, he added .
