Bhubaneswar(14/10/2024): Odisha-based Delhi Visual Artist, Academician, and Author Dr.Abdul Salam Khan is keen to talk about his sole author book titled “The Music of Eyes” a tale of Islamic calligraphy released on 15th October 2024 on the eve of the birth anniversary of our beloved his-excellency none other than the missile man of India, Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.
Dr.Khan is inspired by the transformative and energizing philosophical thoughts of Kalam and believes the line most is Do something that people can write or write something that people can read) with this Dr.Khan started his literary journey to accomplish his sole author book titled “The Music of Eyes” which is a tale of Islamic calligraphy this book is extended version of his funded project of Junior Fellowship, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
This book is a comprehensive exploration of the rich tradition and profound significance of calligraphy in Islamic art.
This book delves into various perspectives, including the origin and development of Islamic calligraphy, and the influence of Mughal calligraphy.
It also explores the Mughal era when calligraphy reached new heights of sophistication and elegance.

It highlights the contributions of various renowned calligraphers. It presents in-depth biographical profiles of select calligraphers who have left an indelible mark on the world of Islamic calligraphy.
From Mohammad Hussain Kashmiri, Khaliq Tonki, and many more from the Indian continent as well as beyond the peripheral figures such as Ibn Muqla, the pioneering figure credited with standardizing the Arabic script, to Ottoman master calligraphers like Sheikh Hamdullah and Hafiz Osman, each profile offers insights into the life, work, and artistic philosophy of these luminaries.
Additionally, it sheds light on contemporary calligraphers also.

only a few books are available on this topic and most are in Urdu or Persian languages with small volumes but Dr.Khan's literary Taj Mahal in the form of “The Music of Eyes”.
It is one of the biggest book in this segment within the last 100 years in global languages which inculcated more than 1 lakh 11 thousand breathing typographical fusion of words.
Each page of this book is his creative canvas spreading over a lakh of black typefaces.
However, it does not seem to be a boring black-and-white composition rather it creates a beautiful aura of a colourful rainbow in the sky.
To complete this book, he has spent more than 8 years of hard work.
