
Special drive AGNI significantly disrupts illegal networks engaged in unsafe trade of firecrackers & explosives across Odisha
Bhubaneswar (30/09/2025): As per direction of DGP, Odisha a state-wide special drive named “AGNI” was conducted from 14th to 27th September 2025.The objective was to curb illegal storage, unauthorized transportation and unlawful sale of explosives and firecrackers, particularly in view of the upcoming festive season. The special drive “AGNI” has significantly disrupted illegal networks engaged in the unsafe trade of firecrackers and explosives across the state.The large volume of seizures and arrests reflects the seriousness of the issue and the determined efforts of the police to ensure public safety.Strict enforcement has not only removed hazardous materials from circulation but also served as a strong deterrent against future violations. Outcomes of the Drive Total recoveries of all districts of Central Range: Cases Registered is 55 and Total seizure value is Rs.54,51,000. Total 33 accused were arrested and 18 notices served. Four accused are absonding.
