Diwali holiday on October 20, 21

Bhubaneswar (18/10/2025): The Odisha government has declared October 20 (Monday) an additional holiday as Diwali will be celebrated on that day.

All government offices and magisterial courts across the state, except in Nuapada district, will remain closed. In lieu of this, the fourth Saturday, October 25, has been declared a working day. Earlier, the state government had announced October 21 as the Diwali holiday.

However, following the revised festival date, the holiday has now been shifted to October 20.

October 21 will also be observed as a holiday in the state.
