Organic rice to be used for Lord Jagannath’s Kotha Bhoga

Puri(24/10/2025): From the upcoming Rath Yatra onwards, the Kotha Bhoga offered to Lord Jagannath will be prepared using organic rice. Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Arabinda Padhee informed that the rice will be supplied by the ‘Balabhadra Organic Farming Mission’. Under the Shree Anna initiative, organic farming is being promoted across several districts of Odisha.

Farmers in Niali and Koraput have started cultivating organic paddy, which will be used for temple offerings.
