Training focused on Climate Change & POCSO- 2012 Act held in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar(26/10/2025): A training focused on climate change & Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO)- 2012 Act was organised by ActionAid Association in collaboration with Center for Child and Women Development (CCWD) at Redcross Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The objective of the training was to educate the slum level human rights defenders towards combating climate change and protect earth, soil, water and air as well as aware about safeguarding of children, said Sadasiv Swain, Center Coordinator.

Joining as guest speaker Debabrata Patra, Associate Director of Action Aid Association, reflected on urban disaster management and role of HRDs.

Attending as guest, Member of Odisha Unorganized Workers' Welfare Board, Government Odisha Mahendra Kumar Parida reflected on role of HRDs towards Sustainable development of workers.

Joining as guest, Suvendu Kumar Ray, Senior Project Lead of Action Aid Association shared on safety net for children and role of HRDs towards combating man-made climate change.

As a key resource person of the training Manmath Kumar Bhanjadeo, state level trainer, shared the impact of climate change and role of HRDs towards community level safety and security through group activities.
