 
            Consultation on child safety held
Bhubaneswar(27/10/2025): A one-day consultation on strengthening mechanisms to prevent child labour, trafficking, and early marriage was organised by ActionAid Association in collaboration with Centre for Child and Women Development (CCWD) at Red Cross Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Monday.The consultation aimed to sensitise duty bearers on promoting grassroots awareness, encouraging parental responsibility, and creating child-friendly families to reduce school dropouts and protect children.Bhaskar Chandra Pradhan highlighted the importance of community-level action, while Sadasiv Swain emphasised the crucial role of duty bearers in strengthening protection mechanisms.Child rights activists Pravasini Nayak, Gitanjali Panda, Renubala Sahoo, and Mamata Nayak shared insights on the challenges faced by children living in urban poverty.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sucharita Behera and was attended by slum-level HRDs and members of the Bhubaneswar Young Urban Women Forum.
