Fake robbery drama for Rs 18 lakh insurance claim; 13 arrested

Bhubaneswar(30/10/2025): In a shocking incident, a fake robbery was staged in Bhubaneswar to claim Rs 18 lakh in insurance money.

Police have arrested 13 people, including two shop owners and 11 others involved in the staged robbery. At a press briefing, Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena informed that the two plywood shop owners from the Tamando area in Bhubaneswar had orchestrated the drama to fraudulently obtain the insurance amount. Both the shop owners and their accomplices have been taken into custody, and further investigation is on.
