Rain likely to dampen Durga Puja celebrations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (18/09/2025): Durga Puja celebrations in Odisha is likely to be dampened by rain as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy showers in several parts of the state from September 25. A low pressure area is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal around September 25-26.

Under its influence, heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in multiple regions of the state. With barely two weeks to go before the grand Durga Puja festivity begin, the Puja organisers are keeping their fingers crossed hoping that rain will not play a spoilsport this time.
