Odisha ready to be a petrochemical hub: CM Mohan Majhi

Mumbai(18/10/2024): “We stand here today on the threshold of a new era—Purvodaya, the resurgence of Eastern India.
Odisha is poised to be at the forefront of this new journey towards a Viksit Bharat.
Our state is ready to play a key role in driving India’s industrial growth,” said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at India Chem 2024.
CM Mohan Charan Majhi is in Mumbai for a two-day visit.
He started the day with participating in the Inaugural session of India Chem 2024 at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Goregaon, Mumbai. The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, in partnership with FICCI, successfully organized the India Chem 2024 summit from October 17 to 19, 2024.
The India Chem 2024 Summit in Mumbai features companies from the chemicals, petrochemicals, and agrochemicals sectors. India Chem 2024 showcased the enormous opportunities offered by the rapidly growing Indian chemicals and petrochemicals industry, along with various government initiatives for sustainable growth in the sector.
It provided a platform for investors, both domestic and international, as well as other stakeholders, and highlighted the investment potential in this industry In a compelling address at India Chem 2024, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized Odisha’s transformative potential in the chemicals and petrochemicals sector.
He stated, "Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha stands ready to play a crucial role in the Purvodaya initiative, marking the resurgence of Eastern India.
With our rich natural resources and strategic location, we are cultivating a robust chemicals ecosystem, attracting major players like IOCL and Paradeep Phosphates.
We are actively inviting investments in high-growth areas such as technical textiles, pharma chemicals, and green fuel production, ensuring that Odisha becomes a key contributor to India’s industrial landscape I invite you all to be a part of Utkarsha Odisha 2025 and encourage global investors to explore the immense opportunities in our state.
Join us in our journey toward a Viksit Odisha." In his address at the India Chem 2024, Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain stated, "This event underscores the transformative potential of India’s chemical, petrochemical, and plastic sectors.
Odisha, with its strategic location with port led connectivity, Skilled man power and investor-friendly policies, is positioned as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial states.
Our commitment to creating a conducive environment for businesses is exemplified by initiatives like the GO SWIFT platform, which ensures a seamless process for investors.

The first day in Mumbai concluded with one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists, where senior representatives from India’s top corporate houses based out of Mumbai participated.

The Chief Minister also underscored the state’s investor-friendly policies and laid out the roadmap for viksit Odisha by 2036.
On the second day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the Utkarsha Odisha Road Show in Mumbai, highlighting the state’s vast investment potential across key sectors.
This roadshow will be the prime platform to invite global investors to participate in Utkarsha Odisha 2025, emphasizing Odisha’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies.
