Odisha fisherman rescues ‘spy’ pigeon with number tag

Kendrapara (20/10/2024): A fisherman caught a suspected 'spy pigeon' at Jambhu village under Mahakalpara block in Kendrapara district.

The fisherman Ratan Das was fishing in the deep waters when the pigeon from nowhere flew into his boat. The fisherman saved the pigeon and brought it home.

However, villagers found a tag ‘CHN-19-2024’ tied to its leg.

Another number 988822 was also written in another tag. It is suspected that the pigeon might be a ‘spy’ from some country.

Later, the fisherman handed over the pigeon to the forest department officials.

The forest officials have kept the tags while the pigeon was released into the wild.
