Well marked low pressure intensifies into depression

Bhubaneswar (22/10/2024): The well marked low pressure over Bay of Bengal intensified into depression and lies 730 km southeast of Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha. [22/10, 9:22 am] Journalist Abhishek: The system is expected to intensify into a deep depression by tonight and further transform into a cyclonic storm by tomorrow.
The cyclonic storm is likely to make landfall between October 24th night and 25th morning, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds to the state.
The landfall may occur between Odisha and West Bengal. The Special Relief Commissioner has issued warnings for districts in Odisha, advising fishermen not to venture into the sea and residents to take necessary precautions.
